For every new personality who enters the crowded political field, one of the most common questions asked is the qualification. What is the person’s qualification that made him or her decide to join the field? Others would typically ask- what would the person bring to the discussion table which other personalities don’t have? Ronnie Puno’s announcement that he will seek the nomination of the merged Lakas – Kampi – CMD for Vice President in the 2010 Philippine Elections electrified an otherwise lackluster field. Leaders from both sides of the political fence welcomed his bid to run for VP, with most of them openly hailing his decision and saying that he would be a valuable asset to any ‘presidentiable’ he will choose to run with — a testament to the man’s excellent standing among his peers.

But for the average Filipino, Ronnie Puno has mostly been low-key and under the radar. What will Ronnie Puno bring to the table as Vice President of the Philippines?

Secretary Puno energizes race for VP

In every presidential election, the focus is always on the candidates running for president. Well this can be expected since it’s the president who leads the nation, and the president is the face of the country when our country is invited ito attend international conferences and meetings. Another reason why the race for the vice presidency gets less attention is due to the quality of the candidates in the field. It’s the same old candidates who are from the Senate who are trying to train and establish themselves in order to be primed up as the next presidential candidate in the next elections. But the good news is that the 2010 national elections is expected to be lively and populated with quality and interesting candidates. And this is true even to the race to the vice presidency.
